Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 140,000 civil engineers worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society. In March 2009, ASCE released the newest version of its Report Card for America's Infrastructure, which assessed 15 categories and rated the nation's infrastructure an overall grade of D.
Associated General Contractors of America
The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the largest and oldest national construction trade association in the United States. AGC represents nearly 33,000 firms, including 7,000 of America's leading general contractors and 11,000 specialty-contracting firms. More than 13,000 service providers and suppliers are associated with AGC through a nationwide network of chapters.
American Public Works Association
Working the public interest, APWA's 29,000 members design, build, operate and maintain transportation, water supply, sewage and refuse disposal systems, public buildings and other structures and facilities essential to our nation’s economy and way and life.
Oregon Water Resources Congress
The Oregon Water Resources Congress (OWRC) was established in 1912 as a trade association to support member needs to protect water rights and encourage conservation and water management statewide. OWRC represents non-potable agriculture water suppliers in Oregon, primarily irrigation districts, as well as other special districts and local governments that deliver irrigation water. The association represents the entities that operate water management systems, including water supply reservoirs, canals, pipelines, and hydropower production.
At the Federal level the organization is primarily involved in the programs, policies and projects of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Bonneville Power Marketing Administration, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Geological Survey U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Texas Water Conservation Association
TWCA membership encompasses the full spectrum of water use or interests: groundwater users, irrigators, municipalities, river authorities, navigation and flood control districts, industrial users, drainage districts, utility districts, and general/environmental interests. TWCA serves as a leader and advocate for water users through working with Congress, stimulating public awareness of water issues and activities, and providing unique opportunities for professional growth and recognition in the field of water resources.
Formed in May of 2008, the Coast Builders Coalition is a 501(c)(6), non-profit trade association comprised of private sector companies in the business of restoring Louisiana’s coastal area and enhancing the state’s levees, floodwalls, and other hurricane protection public works. The Coast Builders Coalition brings together leaders from the private and public sectors to provide leadership and best practices in the implementation of a comprehensive restoration and protection system for South Louisiana.
American Shore & Beach Preservation Assocation
The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association was founded in 1926 by individuals who recognized the need for an organized effort to combat erosion, a serious problem in many coastal areas. Experience had shown that long stretches of shore were affected, making protective efforts by individual property owners or small communities futile. The expertise required to design comprehensive programs of protection was largely lacking. In bygone days, the needs of navigation were regarded as paramount and there was no redress available for damages to adjacent shores by navigation works.
Dredging Contractors of America
As the national non-profit trade association for the dredging industry, the Dredging Contractors of America (DCA) provides a full range of association services to its member companies. DCA represents the industry on key issues before Congress and is an active partner to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, public port authorities, state and local governments, as well as allied construction and maritime organizations. The DCA's Mission: To improve the quality and responsiveness of dredging service delivery to the Nation, ensuring that America’s ports, waterways, wetlands and beaches are efficiently constructed and maintained in an environmentally sustainable manner using innovative methods and American ingenuity.
Association of California Water Agencies
The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) is the largest coalition of public water agencies in the country. Its nearly 450 public agency members collectively are responsible for 90% of the water delivered to cities, farms and businesses in California. ACWA has been a leader in California water issues since 1910. Its primary mission is to assist its members in promoting the development, management and reasonable beneficial use of water in an environmentally balanced manner.
American Council of Engineering Companies
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is the only national organization devoted exclusively to the business and advocacy interests of engineering companies, representing nearly 5,700 independent engineering companies throughout the United States. ACEC promotes the business interests of the engineering industry to Congress, federal agencies, and international organizations. ACEC members are directly engaged in the development of America's infrastructure, and play a particularly critical role in the effort to improve the nation's water and wastewater infrastructure. ACEC member firms represent the broad spectrum of the industry, from very large firms to small, family-owned businesses. Overall, our members employ well over 300,000 people throughout the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
National Stone, Sand & Gravel Associaton
The National Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association represents the crushed stone, sand and gravel - or construction aggregates - industries. Our member companies produce more than 90 percent of the crushed stone and 70 percent of the sand and gravel consumed annually in the United States. Aggregates are the largest component of asphalt and concrete. More than 3 billion tons of aggregates were produced in 2007 at a value of approximately $21 billion, contributing nearly $38 billion annually to the GDP of the United States and each year it increases. With over 11,000 operations nationwide and a workforce of more than 118,000 men and women, most Congressional Districts are home to multiple aggregate operations.
National Association of Regional Councils
The National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) serves as the national voice for regionalism by advocating for regional cooperation as the most effective way to address a variety of community planning and development opportunities and issues. NARC’s member organizations are composed of multiple local governments that work together to serve American communities - large and small, urban and rural. For over 40 years, NARC has represented the interests of its members and has advanced regional cooperation through effective interaction and advocacy with Congress, Federal officials and other related agencies and interest groups. NARC’s agenda includes, but is not limited to, transportation, community and economic development, the environment, homeland security and regional preparedness, and a variety of community issues undertaken by its member organizations.

Upper Mississippi, Illinois, & Missouri Rivers Association
Improve and maintain the flood control systems in the Upper Mississippi, Illinois and Missouri River Valleys. Promote efficient navigation systems and policies for the navigable rivers of the region. Encourage long-range planning to enhance the quality of life and ensure a healthy economic future for the river valleys. Educate and inform the public and decision-makers about flood control, navigation and environmental issues. Develop balanced relationships between flood protection, navigation, environmental, economic and recreational interests. Support the rights of private property owners living and working in the river valleys.
National Association of Flood and Stormwater Management Agencies
The National Association of Flood & Stormwater Management Agencies (NAFSMA) is an organization of public agencies whose function is the protection of lives, property and economic activity from the adverse impacts of storm and flood waters. The mission of the Association is to advocate public policy, encourage technologies and conduct education programs which facilitate and enhance the achievement of the public service function of its members. The National Association of Flood & Stormwater Management Agencies is your voice in Washington, D.C. on such water resources management issues as stormwater management, disaster assistance, flood insurance and federal flood management policy.
Orange County (CA) Public Works
The County of Orange Department includes the following core businesses: OC Engineering, OC Planning, and OC Facilities. OC Public Works serves the public through the following: flood control, highways, facilities, and planning.
The Missouri Corn Growers Association
The Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA), established in 1978, is a grassroots organization of farmer-members dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production by developing and expanding corn markets, collecting and distributing information, building coalitions with organizations and industries, and participating in the governmental process.
Florida Inland Navigation District
The mission of the Florida Inland Navigation District is to perform the functions of the "local sponsor" of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway project in Florida, a State/Federal navigation project. In this capacity the District provides all lands required for the navigation project including rights of way and lands for the management of dredged materials removed from the waterway channel during dredging activities.
Association of State Dam Safety Officials
The failure of dams and the great destruction and loss of life failures often cause, is a matter of deep concern to the members of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO). ASDSO is a national non-profit organization serving state dam safety programs and the broader dam safety community, which includes federal dam safety professionals, dam owners and operators, engineering consultants, manufacturers, suppliers, academia, contractors, and others interested in improving dam safety.
